ECE Coach, Facilitator & Outreach Specialist
Meet Shelby Secoura
(RECE)
Shelby is a seasoned ECE with extensive experience working in infant rooms, toddler rooms, preschool rooms, summer camps, school-age programs, and 7+ years in ECE management roles.
As a lover of all things networking, management, education and growth, she is grateful to provide others a chance to succeed with the best support possible. Shelby's journey in this field was driven by her love for the ever-changing nature of the work, the joy of having small, innocent conversations amid the day's chaos, and the ability to stop, smile, and learn from tomorrow's leaders.
My why has come and gone especially with burn out.
I feel like I use to say; I love how each day is different and connecting with children that are literally exploring the world with awe...
But now that I'm a mom, I think my focus has, and will continue to turn to ensuring I build a community or team that is competent and capable in themselves to continue to scaffold and build themselves up; so that they always look at each day with each child as an amazing opportunity.
I would fully like to get rid of the 'babysitting' and 'just a paycheque' mindset and really encourage staff of all levels to love what they do, to do what they love within the realm of their ECE career.
Shelby's ECE "Why"
“Every child deserves an educator who loves what they do.”
In Conversation with Shelby
I'm chatty, bubbly, incredibly organized, love routine and schedules, but I don't mind spontaneity as long as I know the parking situation...
And I love to try literally everything. I will try anything and everything for my team. Centre needs, including policies implementation, and writing, staff training programs, and my biggest passion is supporting staff (whether they know it or not)!
