The Challenge
AECENL recognized an important opportunity: while professional learning opportunities were thriving across their network, there was a need to deepen conversations around diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB).
Core Goals
- Deepen conversations around diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB)
- Increase educator engagement around DEIB learning and reflection
- Develop accessible, high-quality pre-recorded content that educators could access across the province
- Foster a stronger sense of connection, representation, and legacy within the ECE community
Phase 1: DEIB Workshop Series
We worked closely AECENL team to identify community needs and key learning priorities.
Together, we developed a custom series of pre-recorded workshops focused on DEIB in early childhood education.
Every session was:
- Tailored for AECENL educators
- Practical,
and built to
meet educators where they are, using reflective prompts and real-world examples
- Accessible, built for the LMS and available long-term
- Conversation-starting, inspiring long-term discussion within teams, classrooms, and leadership around DEIB
Phase 2: Live Conference Partnership: “Legacy in Early Childhood Education”
Following the success of the recorded series,
Anisha Angella was invited by AECENL to be a
featured conference speaker for their
Annual Early Childhood Education Conference.
Session: “Legacy in Early Childhood Education: The Impact You Leave Behind”
Duration: 2 hours
Format: Hybrid — in-person and virtual
Audience: 700+ educators across Newfoundland and Labrador

The ECC Solution
The Early Childhood Coach collaborated with AECENL to create a two-part professional learning experience designed to make DEIB an
