Curriculum Coordinator & ECE Coach

Meet Maha Abbas

(RECE, BA)

Today, Maha serves as a Curriculum Coordinator with PLASP Child Care Services, supporting over 240 programs through coaching, resource development, and professional learning initiatives.

She has worked with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and school age children in full-day licensed child care and before and after school programs.

Maha believes education is political, where educators become social justice advocates for children and families. She believes true learning is rooted in relationships, where creativity, identity, and belonging can be nurtured and brought to life.

Hear Maha's story

To deepen her practice with theory and research, she is pursuing her Master of Arts in Early Childhood Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University, with interests in anti-racism, culturally and developmentally responsive pedagogy, reflective community-building, and the therapeutic influence of nature and the arts.

Her work honours children, families, and educators as knowledge holders and drives her to design learning experiences where people feel safe to show up as their whole selves where they are seen, heard, valued, and empowered to lead with courage.

Maha's impact at the ecc
